Club Policies
Player Expectations
Practice Attendance & Preparation
- Arrive 10 minutes early to all practices and competitions.
- Come fully prepared with appropriate gear and a focused mindset.
- Maintain regular attendance; consistent participation is essential for development and team chemistry.
- Work to the best of your ability in every practice and competition.
- Follow coaching instructions and respect coaching decisions.
Player Development & Communication
- It is the player’s responsibility—not the parent’s—to communicate with coaches about areas for improvement.
- Players should approach coaches before or after practice to ask about:
- How to improve specific skills
- How to earn more playing time
- Feedback on performance
- Demonstrate commitment, accountability, and a positive attitude in all team activities.
Parent & Family Expectations
Support & Conduct
Parents play a vital role in their athlete’s experience. We ask that you:
- Support your athlete’s commitment to the team and program.
- Avoid interfering with coaches or players during practices or competitions.
- You are welcome to observe practices, but please do not instruct or interact with players during practice time.
- Respect all referees and game officials; do not engage them directly or raise your voice toward them
- Model positive sportsmanship and respect for all participants.
Concerns & Communication Protocol
If you have a concern about your athlete or the program:
- Wait 24 hours after the conclusion of a competition or practice before reaching out.
- Use this cooling-off period to ensure conversations are productive and constructive.
- After 24 hours, contact the appropriate coach or staff member directly.
- Focus on understanding the coach’s perspective and your athlete’s development.
- Coaches will proactively contact parents about any significant player concerns; no parent outreach is necessary in those cases.
Spectator Conduct During Events
- Cheer for your team and help create a positive atmosphere for all athletes.
- Do not approach, question, or distract coaches, athletes, or officials during competitions.
- Unsolicited coaching, instructions, or negative comments from the stands undermine team development and confuse players.
- Violations of spectator conduct expectations may result in removal from the event or, if repeated, from the program.
Communication Policies
Coach & Staff Communication
- Coaches are not expected to text, call, or connect with players or parents on personal social media accounts.
- All team-related communication flows through Crossbar (our team management system) and email.
- Coaching staff will typically respond to inquiries within 24–48 hours.
- Email is the primary communication method for non-urgent matters.
How We Communicate With You
- You will receive emails and Crossbar messages with important updates, schedule changes, and announcements.
- Practice, competition, and event schedules are updated regularly in Crossbar.
- Please add all necessary family members to Crossbar if they need access to information.
- Check your email regularly and adjust filters so messages from Revolution Volleyball Club do not go to spam.
- Important announcements and deadlines are distributed via Crossbar and email; missed messages may result in missed deadlines or opportunities.
